Cultural Diversity/Competency: The A in LGBTIA: What is Asexuality?
A crash course in Asexuality for mental health professionals. Content includes:
- Definitions of the terms asexual, aromantic, ace/aro, allosexual
- The asexuality spectrum, demisexuality and graysexuality
- The Split Attraction model
- Range of sex favorability and sex positivity the Ace community
- Four types of attraction
- What *not* to say to an asexual person
- Ace culture and relevant resources
- Understanding identity-related terms such as Asexual Panromantic and Graysexual Polyromantic

Virtual training: June 14, 2024 12-1pm PST
Cultural Diversity/Competency: Clinical Considerations with Asexual Clients
A more in-depth discussion of asexuality and working with asexual clients in therapy, for people already familiar with asexuality or as a Part II to the previous week's training. Content includes:
- The asexuality spectrum, demisexuality and graysexuality
- Differences between asexuality, libido, sexual interest/arousal disorders, trauma, and celibacy/abstinence
- Intersectionality (neurodivergence, religious upbringing, trauma)
- Common identity-related, relational, and Existential challenges faced by asexual people
- Clinical and supportive strategies for working with asexual clients in therapy
