Parenting and Family Therapy
Whether they have young kids or older teens, parents play a lasting role in their children's lives.
I have met a lot of parents who feel blamed and disempowered when their child or teen has behavioral or emotional difficulties. I find this sad, as even very loving and skilled parents can find themselves feeling lost at times. Some problems seem to come out of nowhere, or are the result of generations of difficult genetics or unhealthy patterns.
It takes courage and wisdom to reach out for support and accept guidance from others.
I love to include parents and families in counseling, whether it's sharing some tips and tricks to try at home or bringing in siblings and extended family to brainstorm and talk through things.
My job is to support parents in supporting their children, and ensure they have the resources and tools to help their child grow and heal. Often there are small things you can try that can make a big difference on old and frustrating patterns.
